Dream On

Every day, I'm blown away by something in my life -- some of it fabulous, some of it not so fabulous, all of it exciting, interesting, and different. After returning home from an amazing 12 days in Europe, I find my son creeping up half an inch taller than me for the first time in 14 1/2 years and his music collection is looking like something from my own life 30 years ago. On the way to school, Beau and I were listening to Aerosmith. At first, I just started singing at the top of my lungs "Dream on! Dream on!" because I loved the song so much. Of course, my son was looking at me horrified. But then I started listening to the words and got so inspired that I felt I had to share it with you this week given that I also wanted to inspire you all to buy my friend Marci Shimoff's brilliant little guide to being happy. G-d knows, this is a time we need to learn to be happy from the inside out. If we are honest, we know that there can always be a reason to find happiness and joy and if we look, we can always find a reason to be miserable and upset. Together, let's claim today as our day to dream on, to dream for happiness and for peace for all of humankind. As Aerosmith sings:

Every time I look in the mirror

All these lines on my face getting clearer

The past is gone

It goes by, like dusk to dawn

Isn't that the way

Everybody's got their dues in life to pay...

Half my life

is in books' written pages

Lived and learned from fools and

from sages

You know it's true

All the things come back to you...

Sing with me, sing for the year

Sing for the laughter, sing for the tears

Sing with me, if it's just for today

Maybe tomorrow, the good lord will take you away

Yeah, sing with me, sing for the year

sing for the laughter, sing for the tear

sing with me, if it's just for today

Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away

Dream on, dream on, dream on

Dream until your dreams come true

Dream on, dream on, dream on

Dream until your dream comes through

So today I invite you to dream on and sing for happiness.

With love and blessings,

Debbie Ford
